    China-Russia Future Industry Roundtable Forum Concludes Successfully

    HARBIN, Sept. 26 – The China-Russia Future Industry Roundtable, jointly organized by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences (HAS), and the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, successfully concluded on September 26.

    Held under the theme "Technological Innovation Drives Synergistic Development of Industrial Ecosystems," the forum brought together 18 experts and scholars from the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences alongside HIT faculty members for in-depth exchanges on enhancing sci-tech innovation and industrial collaboration. The event was hosted by HIT’s Business School.

    Wu Ligang, Assistant President of HIT, and Viktor Rudenko, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Chairman of the Ural Branch of the RAS, delivered opening remarks. Also in attendance were Feng Dajun, Deputy Director of Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences; Guan Shaonan, Deputy Director of Harbin Science and Technology Bureau; and Wang Yang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Institute for Advanced Technology of HAS. Ma Tao, Dean of the Business School, presided over the opening session.

    Wu Ligang highlighted the long-standing cooperation between HIT and the Ural Branch, emphasizing the forum’s role as a key component of HIT’s disciplinary ecosystem in advancing industrial collaboration with Russia. He expressed HIT’s readiness to use the forum as a platform to deepen industrial cooperation mechanisms and jointly build a top-tier innovation talent training system with Russian and provincial partners, thereby contributing wisdom and strength to the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era.

    Viktor Rudenko noted that the forum represents a significant opportunity to deepen industry-academia-research integration between the Ural Branch and HIT. He looked forward to establishing efficient collaboration mechanisms to achieve new progress in talent cultivation and cultural exchanges, supporting both sides in elevating the bilateral strategic partnership to new heights.

    During the forum, four experts from the Ural Branch delivered academic and keynote reports, chaired by Wang Hao, Assistant Researcher at the Business School.

    A dedicated roundtable discussion featured six doctoral students from Center of Composite Materials and Structures of the School of Astronautics, Institute for Advanced Ceramics of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Center for Precision Engineering of the School of Mechatronics Engineering, Steel-Timber Architecture and Landscape Institute of the School of Architecture and Design, and the Business School. The session was moderated by Lei Chao, Assistant Researcher at the Business School.

    Moving forward, the Business School will leverage this event as a starting point to launch specialized international research collaborations and customized exchange programs. Initiatives such as the "China-Russia Joint Training Program for Future Industry Talents" will be implemented to cultivate professionals in international technology transfer and ecosystem development, injecting fresh momentum into the future industrial landscape of both nations.
