On June 13, 2026, the closing ceremony of the “International Training Program on Artificial Intelligence Empowering Sustainable Development: Industrial Application and Technology Transformation” was held at the Shenzhen campus of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). Hosted by HIT Business School under the “Training Program for Developing Countries” of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the program brought together around 20 participants from Egypt, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Ghana, Russia and Nepal.
During the 15-day training, participants completed group projects on AI-empowered industrial solutions tailored to their home countries, and presented their outcomes at the closing ceremony. Professor Zheng Jiali, Assistant Dean and Head of Department of Future Industries at HIT Business School, addressed the ceremony and issued completion certificates.
The program included lectures by renowned scholars and visits to eight AI-related companies in Shenzhen, including BYD, Mindray, BGI, and others, gaining firsthand insights into China’s AI innovation ecosystem.
This training program is an important practice of HIT Business School, grounded in its positioning of “Technovation-Business” to expand high-level international education cooperation and build a global industry-academia-research network. The School will continue to support developing countries in building capacity for AI adoption and sustainable development.
