Introduction

I. School Overview

Established in July 2022, the Business School at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) manages professional degree programs (including MBA, EMBA, MPAcc, and MEM), doctoral and master's degree programs for applicants with equivalent academic backgrounds in economics, management, business, and humanities, DBA programs, and advanced research initiatives, fostering integrated development of economics and management disciplines across HIT's three-campus system.

The Business School comprises four departments: Department of Organization and Marketing, Department of Accounting and Finance, Department of Strategy and Innovation, and Department of Future Industries. The School currently offers four undergraduate majors: Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, and Financial Management; a master's program in Business Administration (first-level discipline), with four research directions: Technological Economics and Management, Business Management, Marketing, and Accounting; four professional master’s degree programs: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA), Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc), and Master of Engineering Management (MEM); a doctoral program in Business Administration (first-tier discipline); and a postdoctoral research station in Business Administration.

The Business School actively supports the university's vision for its new century, focusing on cultivating "Technology-Integrated Business" talent. It is committed to exploring a new ecosystem for technology and innovation-driven business, stimulating and incubating industrial technological momentum, and facilitating corporate growth and transformation. In response to the industrial upgrade demands of world-class bay area economies, the Business School is positioned to serve the Yangtze River Delta, engage with the Bohai Rim, and contribute to the Northeast China Revitalization in the new era.

Guided by the "Technology-Integrated Business" philosophy, the Business School bridges technology and commerce by leveraging HIT's strengths in engineering and its extensive experience in business education, committed to building a robust "Technology-Integrated Business" ecosystem. On the path to excellence in the new century, characterized by "Chinese distinctiveness, world-class standards, and the HIT caliber," the School is committed to cultivating a new generation of high-level business talents with a distinctive HIT identity, who possess global perspectives, pioneering spirit, innovative mindset, technological literacy, investment decision-making capabilities, and a strong sense of social responsibility.

III. Faculty and Operations & Management Team

The Business School has built a high-level faculty team by coordinating outstanding academic staff across HIT's three campuses and beyond. This team includes over 10 members led by academicians and distinguished masters, more than 240 renowned business scholars, over 60 national-level Distinguished Scholars, and more than 80 founders and senior executives from technology companies and financial institutions.

The Business School is supported by a professional program operations and management team, with established functional units including the EMBA Center, MBA Center, Comprehensive Programs Center, Equivalent Qualification Master's/Doctoral Programs Center, Advanced Training Center, Shanghai Office, Beijing Office, Science and Innovation Office / Technology Transfer Sub-Center, General Administration Office, Talent Development Office, and International Cooperation Office.

IV. Student Enrollment

The Business School currently has 372 full-time enrolled students, including 160 undergraduates, 110 master's students, and 102 doctoral candidates. The inaugural cohort of full-time graduates achieved a 99% initial employment rate upon graduation.

The School also enrolls over 3,800 part-time students. Guided by the "Technology-Integrated Business" philosophy, it has pioneered China's first "High-Tech Investment" EMBA program and the largest Sci-Tech Innovation MBA programs for industries, which concentrate in AI Investment and Management, Energy Storage Investment and Management, Robotics and Smart Manufacturing, Healthcare and Medical Devices, Open-Source Software and IT Innovation, Tech Finance, and Low-Altitude Economy and Commercial Space.

V. Accreditations and Honors

The Business School has earned accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the Association of MBAs (AMBA) International Accreditation, and the Chinese Advanced Management Education Accreditation (CAMEA). In 2019, with the active participation of relevant disciplinary programs, the Business School co-founded the C9+ League of Business Schools.

Since its establishment, the Business School has been consistently recognized for its profound expertise in "Technology-Integrated Business," being consecutively honored as a "Leading Business School in Technology-Integrated Business" from 2023 to 2025. Key accolades include the "Top 100 Best MBA Programs" (8th) , "Top 10 Best Finance MBA Programs" (3rd) and "Brand Influence EMBA Program" in 2023; the "Top 10 Technology MBA Programs" (1st) and "Industry Benchmark EMBA Brand" in 2024; the "Benchmark in AI + Business Education Integration and Innovation" and "Outstanding High-Tech Investment EMBA Program" in 2025. To date, the School has accumulated dozens of business education honors, solidifying its leadership in technology-integrated business and advanced management education.
